When Neji died and sacrificed himself to save Hinata who was getting ready to sacrifice her life to save Naruto from a Juubi spear, it was all planned. Like the fanbase has suspected but couldn’t believe, Neji’s death wasn’t an accident. The speculations and fan created stories have led to the truth that I am about to discuss today in where Kishimoto didn’t hide the fact at all as to what he has done.
In fact, he had no shame for what he said about Neji’s death. Today I am going to be discussing the real reason why Masashi Kishimoto killed of Neji Hyuga. I can the NaruHina fans screaming. But foreal, this information first of all is from the source interview done with Kishimoto by Kobayashi. In the Kobayashi interview, Neji’s death is brought up and Kishimoto quickly spills as there is no shame for what he did.
Kishimoto admits that he killed Neji’s character during that arc and that he knew Neji was going to die, simply to make Naruto and Hinata closer so the would eventually get together in the long run. Kishimoto already knew Hinata was going to end up with Naruto regardless, but he figured by killing off Neji it would make them closer and make it more believable that they would bond after the death of a loved one that they both had a connection with.
And that connection just so happened to be with Neji. And I mean that’s pretty much everything to it. Us fans knew already for the main, but actually reading the transcript of Kishimoto admitting to that claim of making them closer by killing him was crazy to believe until actually reading it.
