HighSchool: DxD HerO Promo Review

Hey guys! Long time no write. I’ve been really busy with my job and military duty lately. I plan to write as often as I can, but I hope you all can forgive the long intervals. I know I’m REALLY late with this article, so I’m sorry, but there are reasons which I have said and which you will read about in the next paragraph, but still Gomen’nasai.

Shinigami in Anime Article update: I still haven’t finished Rinne. As I’ve said I’ve been busy. My day starts at around 09:00 as thats when I wake up, usually. And, I’m usually out the door by 12:30-13:30 to get to work by 15:00. I then work until 23:30, but then get home by about 01:00. So yeah, LOOOOOOONG days for me. My days off are usually spent relaxing, and my way of relaxing is usually video games and TV. I need to start squeezing in more time for watching anime. Anyway, this is a little glimpse into my daily life and to why I’m not done with Rinne. BUT, I should be done with Rinne by either this week or next so I’ll get to the next anime on my list which is Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai (So I can’t play H). I’m gonna have to get CrunchyRoll to watch that plus Full Moon wo Sagashite, to be able to finish the Research. But I kinda needed a break from the Shinigami, hence this article.

Now to get to the part you’re really reading this article for, my review of the HighSchool: DxD HerO promo.

I have been looking forward to seeing this promo for MONTHS. Ever since Season 4 had been confirmed, (you can read my article about the confirmation here) I’ve been wanting to see what they’re planning, and I gotta say I’m impressed! Many people have been hating on the style changes, but I’ll get to that. Like I said, I’m looking forward to the continuation of the story, and of course the “Couples” throughout the series. If your wondering what I’ve said you can check out my very first article, HERE. There are several things to note.

The Style Changes:

As I’ve written, I’ve seen people hating the style changes. People are not comfortable with change, and certainly it will take some getting used to. But you gotta remember, it’s been three years since the last episode aired (Or rather, its gonna be three by the time the air date hits). Its gonna need some revamping. Also, they’ve switched studios. It used to be TNK now its Studio Passione (from some of the other articles I’ve read) so OF COURSE the style’s gonna be different. If anything, I think they revamped the style to try and bring in more fans. At the very least, I think this style is gonna be easier to animate the actions scenes, not to say that the old style had bad animation for its action scenes, it’s just gonna look cooler in my opinion. I might be one of the few, but I AM enjoying this new style ENORMOUSLY (Just like Rias’ boobs! LOL). If you feel different about the style changes, please use the survey on the last page and in the comments!

The fight scene:

In this promo we see a fight happening in an arena. Fans of the show’s previous seasons know that its Sairaorg and Issei. For those who don’t remember, (SPOILER ALERT) Sairaorg killed the World Serpent with one punch. He’s considered the strongest of all the young devils. When the fight with Loki is over Sairaorg says something like, “You must be really strong, I look forward to a balls out battle with you,” to Issei. We get to see a glimpse of that fight here in the promo. I think that when Issei hits him, and sends him back several feet, Sairaorg is surprised. Because he’s so incredibly strong, I don’t think many people can send Sairaorg flying away or even move him a little bit from one punch, so its extremely impressive to see Issei do it.

The Girls:

With any style revamp, obviously the girls are gonna look different. But that doesn’t change their feelings for Issei. That doesn’t change the fact that they are all in love with him, as seen when Akeno, Koneko, and Asia start fighting over him, then Rias jumps in. I think this season will see more boobs and more interaction between Issei and the girls because Koneko FINALLY came around to liking him, (see season 3 after the fight with Loki, on the train ride back). So that’s another thing to look forward to.

The New Villain:

Obviously, with a new season comes a new villain. However, I don’t know much about him. You gotta remember, I haven’t read the light novels or manga, so I didn’t know who he was until I looked at the wiki. According to the wiki, his name is Cao Cao. He apparently is a true Longinus user, meaning he’s extremely powerful. I think he’s the one who gave Diadora the bonds to hold Asia, but in his extremely creepy manner, he had designed it so that if he lost then Asia would disappear. Of course, Issei destroyed that bond and save Asia, and Diadora wound up dying, but that bond might’ve been the work of Cao Cao. We’ll have to see.

If you can’t tell, I am SOOOOOO looking forward to HerO. I hope you all have a good rest of you’re week!
